Also known as land or road luge, this sport involves hurtling downhill while lying flat on one’s back on a board that looks like an oversized skateboard.  Speeds during competition range from 100 to 160 kph (62 – 100mph).  One of the most incredible achievements in this sport was by Mike McIntyre, who set the world record for the fastest speed on a gravity-powered luge, reaching an astonishing 101.90 mph in 2016.
